ABERGAVENNY Road Club have been shortlisted in the Inspiring Initiative/Local Grassroots category of the 2016 Womens’ Sports Trust.

The popular cycling club was picked because it has continually inspired others to value, participate in, watch and support women’s sport.

The Women’s Sport Trust #BeAGameChanger awards, supported by Microsoft, showcase the irresistible nature of women’s sport and inspire others to take action.

Other clubs and organizations who have been shortlisted in the the same category as Abergavenny RC include Bletchley Ladies’ First XV, teamBeds&Luton, The West of Scotland Girls’ Judo Programme, Get Berkshire Active’s This Girl Can projects, Cage Cricket, Women’s Climbing Symposium.

An expert panel will choose the finalists in each category on April 5, and public voting for winners will open on April 18. Winners will be announced on May 12.
