Chepstow - 3
Govilon - 0
DESPITE lacking seven first team regulars, Govilon gave a good account of themselves against a top of the table Chepstow outfit.
Playing in atrocious conditions, Chepstow had the better of the early exchanges and broke away and scored with a good header from a precision cross.
Undeterred, Govilon took the game to Chepstow but couldn't quite capitalise as Chepstow scored from a set piece to make it 2- 0 at the interval.
Chepstow came out in the second half playing down the slight slope and attacked leaving the Govilon defence of S. Smith, A. Davies, L. Gilchrist and A. Spiers with plenty to do.
Govilon had a great chance on the half hour to pull a goal back when Dean Morgan was one on one with the keeper who made a good save.
Five minutes later Govilon had a goal disallowed when Leon Gilchrist's header went over the keeper but was ruled offside.
With two minutes left on the clock Chepstow broke away and scored to make it 3-0 at the close of play and take high-fliers even closer to the title.
Elsewhere in Division One the Blaeanvon Blues received a 5-0 bashing from Cwmbran Town.
A score-line which slightly flattered the visitors somewhat.
