Abergavenny Chronicle weather expert Jonathan Powell is warning of possible flooding as rain hits the county over the next few days.
’’A combination of two low pressure systems make for a wet and windy Friday, Saturday, and Sunday across Monmouthshire and surrounding counties.
’’First Storm Alex arrives today, Friday, which will generate heavy and persistent rain, with a fresh northerly wind.
’’As Alex pushes southwards across the continent, Alex is quickly followed by another low pressure system on Saturday yielding more rain, heavy rain and fresh northerly-based winds.
’’Sunday perhaps being spared somewhat, but still wet. Localised flooding is a distinct possibility, with travel disruption, and branches down on minor routes, said Jonathan.
