A MODELLING competition conjures images of glitzy dresses, shoes and make-up - but not for an Abergavenny builder - the only male to make it through to the final stages of NP's Next Top Model.

Lewis Edwards, 19, from Llantilio Pertholey is asking for votes to help him win a £500 gift voucher, a photoshoot and a front cover magazine deal.

Modelling isn't something Lewis usually spends his time doing, his mother Josie entered him into the competition while he was away building.

"She told me she had entered me and I just thought, 'ok, might aswell give it a go' and I was with around 100 models and now I've made it down to the last 10 - and I'm the only boy and I'm just going with the flow," he said.

Lewis, an adult support worker, is a former pupil from King Henry VIII School and enjoys going to the gym and playing football for Mardy FC.
