As part of their commitment to improve their links within local communities, Vodafone approached the Scouts Association this year to provide them with whatever labour work they need doing.

As a result Vodafone employees from their store in Frogmore Street gave up their Sunday to give the scouting hut in Abergavenny’s Fairfield car park a bit of a face lift. Paint pots and brushes at the ready, they helped breathe some fresh life into the tired building, despite the rains efforts!

The team of five have been a presence on Frogmore High-Street since November 2014, and donated £1000 to Mardy Juniors Football Team when they first opened. Store manager Sara Manning said ‘this is the first Giving Back day my team and I have taken part in in Abergavenny, and I don’t intend in it being our last. Abergavenny is a wonderful town, and we’re proud to be able to support the local Scouting Association in any way we can’.

Vodafone donated £300 towards the recent revamp of the building, and are very pleased with the finished result. The UK born company have helped the Scouting Association create the ‘Digital Marker and Digital Citizen’ staged Activity Badges, to help children and young adults learn the technology they have at their fingertips is to be used responsibly and in a sustainable way. ??If you’re interested in your child joining Beavers, Cubs or Scouts, please contact Sarah Hoddy via email at [email protected]
