Residents of Glangrwyney and Llangenny are being given the chance to decide the future of their village hall.
The Trustees of Glangrwyney Village Hall are launching a consultation exercise to draw in views and ideas for developing the hall and its facilities.
The hall was built in 1965 and serves the two village communities. It operates as a registered charity and as such is governed by statutory regulations.
While the hall offers good quality facilities, which are well kept, well maintained, and well used, it has undergone very little major renovation since it was built. It is also limited in the range of events it can cope with.
The feeling is that, with some remodelling and even extending, it could provide a better range of facilities to serve the community.
The Village Hall Committee can apply for a range of grants to develop the hall, but in order for these applications to be successful, they need community support.
The aim of the consultation therefore is to ensure that the committee has as many views as possible from local people of all ages.
The committee is running a social evening and informal consultation meeting on Monday May 23 at 7.30pm - with free refreshments available from 7pm and a short AGM to follow. Questionnaires and leaflets are being distributed locally and residents can also give their views by completing the ‘on line’ questionnaire at: glangrwyneyvillagehall.co.uk
