AN urgent appeal has been launched by Gwent Cats Protection.

The charity desperately needs more indoor and outdoor fosterers to care for the many unwanted and abandoned cats and kittens reported to the branch each year.

Anyone considering indoor fostering would need a dedicated spare room in the house for the sole use of the cat or kittens, their own transport and time to spare. All food, litter and everything needed to car for them will be provided.

An outdoor fosterer would need to be a member of the branch for six months to get aquatinted with the way the branch runs and would then have a dedicated cat pen erected in their garden. All costs of the erection of the pen and all expenses would be borne by the branch.

Loretta Kedward said, "We urgently need help, if preferred people could try indoor fostering in the meantime. Transport would also be needed to take the cat to the vets."
