Two people are in hospital after a crash which closed the A4042 at Goytre this evening.

Gwent Police said two vehicles were involved in the collision at Goytre shortly after 5.30pm.

One person was airlifted to hospital while another was taken by ambulance. Their condition is not yet known.

The A4042 was closed in both directions between Park Y Brain Lane and the A472, Berthin Road, while police carried out an investigation but has since re-opened.
