Two people were taken to hospital following a collision between two cars which closed the A465 Heads of the Valleys Road for much of today (Friday).

Emergency services including a rapid response car and an emergency ambulance were called to the scene of the accident between Gilwern and Clydach, at around 8.40am today and two people are taken to Nevill Hall Hospital with what were believed to be non-life threatening injuries."

The accident was between two vehicles on the A465 Gilwern towards Clydach

A Gwent Police spokeswoman said they were called at 8.45am this morning when road closures were put in place and a 25 mile diversion put in place.
