The 61-year-old man who died after a single vehicle collision on the mini roundabout near the river at Llanfoist has been named as Peter Francis Goodridge, a leading light in the art world.

Peter was rushed to Nevill Hall Hospital following the accident early last Thursday morning, but sadly passed away.

The following tribute has been released by his family.

“Pete was a monumental figure in the visual Arts and Crafts in Wales. His company ArtWorks has transported art work throughout the UK and across the world. He will be greatly missed by the artists, curators and technicians he worked with. The National Museum in Cardiff have their flag at half-mast in his honour.

“He is survived by his wife Melanie Brown and his children Scarlett and Gregory.

“Pete was a larger than life character, and not just his height of six foot six; he connected with so many people, he loved what he did, and was a unique part of so many people’s lives. He will be greatly missed.”
