RAGLAN and district farmers were treated to some fine cuisine, top class entertainment and even an impromptu tribute to The Wurzels at their Annual Presentation Evening.

The event, with a musical theme, was held at the Hog’s Head, Llantillio Crossenny and attracted over 160 members and friends.

The presentation of awards was punctuated at half-time by a Wurzels tribute courtesy of members, Rhys Cooke, Trevor Bowen, Dale Radnor and Dan Edwards midway through the presentation of awards by the respective judges from Lanwarne Ploughing Society and Kath Walker from Mole Valley Farmers.

The meal was provided by the Crofters from Whitebrook and the event was organised by secretaries, Val Cooke and Ellen Morgan with compere, Stan Evans, chairman aided by vice chairman, Steve Williams.

President David Morgan thanked all concerned for another fantastic evening, before conducting the customary ‘Heads or Tails’ competition, which raised over £650 towards the purchase of a defibrillator for Llantillio Crossenny and Penrhos.

YFC county chairman, Trevor Bowen, also received a cheque from Raglan Farmers’ Association for £100 for his charity,Latch, for which he has now raised £4,000.
