A?fifth of the members of Abergavenny Town Council have failed to attend more than 50 percent of the authority's meetings figures have revealed. Of the 15 members of the town council, three - Councillors Paul Jordan, Paul Wadsworth and Mark Chiplin - have missed more than half of the council's meetings. While no-one managed a 100 per cent attendance record Councillor Nick Tatum missed only one meeting, with Councillor Sheila Woodhouse and Councillor Douglas Edwards both attending 93 per cent of meetings. Councillor Wadsworth and Councillor Jordan have attended 44 per cent and 26 per cent of meetings respectively, while Councillor Chiplin has only attended 12 per cent of all meetings from May 2013 to April 2014. By contrast, Councillor Nick Tatam has attended 97 per cent of meetings all year, only missing one meeting of the planning committee The figures make allowances for those town councillors who are also members of the MCC planning committee and therefore cannot attend town planning meetings.
