ABERGAVENNY'S critically acclaimed singer songwriter Matthew Jay lives on through his music and a tribute concert will soon remind everyone of his talents.
It is five years since Matthew died and the Shepherds Bush Empire in London will soon be reverberating with the sounds of some of his songs and the artists he inspired and played with.
The highlight will be a performance by James Walsh of Starsailor who actually toured with Matthew Jay at the height of their fame.
The other artists Matthew toured with included Dido, Travis and the Doves and he would even appear on Later with Jools Holland.
The tribute concert is entitled 'Further Than Tomorrow' and the even will mark what would have been Matthew's 30th birthday.
The evening will celebrate his life and music with all profits going to his two favourite charities which were Amnesty International and Unicef.
The line-up of artists performing at the event include Chris Difford, James Walsh, Kathryn Williams and Neil Maccoli, Passenger, Dlugokecki, Helen Boulding, Flamboyant Bella and Vasco.
There will be over four hours of music played at the event with each artist performing their favourite Matthew Jay track and their latest material.
The tribute concert takes place on Friday, October 10 at the Shepherds Bush Empire in London.
