Seven Sisters - 0

Goytre - 2

GOYTRE had the better of a much-improved Seven Sisters side in last Saturday's Welsh League Division Three clash.

Goytre visited the Sisters without Matthew Cameron, Darren Haines, and the injured Kevin Wallace, but on the positive side top goal-scorer Graham Mason returned to the sub's bench after injury.

Within ten minutes of the restart Goytre were awarded a penalty when Craig Jolllife was brought down from behind inside the penalty box.

Lee Wadden stepped up, but his hard hit shot went straight to keeper Damian Turner for an easy save.

This, incidentally, was the third time Goytre have had penalties saved in the last three weeks.

Further chances were created for strikers Ryan Andrews and Lee Grimes and only superb saves by the Sisters' keeper kept the home-side in the game until the interval.

Into the second-half and Wadden made amends for his earlier miss when a curling swinging ball from a corner by Craig Jollife found him unmarked at the far post. Wadden's powerful header left the keeper with no chance.

Goytre dominated play through the efforts of midfielders Mark Jones, Adam Roberts, Carl Evans and Craig Jollife, and it was no surprise when they increased the lead through Mark Jones, who raced onto a pass from Carl Evans, and calmly placed the ball past the keeper.

Seven Sisters were finding it difficult to contain Goytre, and further chances were created but to no avail.

20 minutes from time when manager Ian Rosser brought on subs James Wilkins and Graham Mason to increase the attacking options, but although Goytre demanded possession they could not increase their lead before half-time.
