A WALES-wide search is on to find the people, organisations and businesses in our communities who make life better for older people.
Age Cymru will be honouring them with its ‘Age Cymru Awards 2016’ for their contribution to creating an age friendly Wales.
The winners will receive their prizes from the national broadcaster Jason Mohammad at Age Cymru’s glitzy gala dinner and awards ceremony in Cardiff in March.
“Across Wales, there are companies, voluntary groups and individuals who do remarkable work to help older people – from those who provide services that improve the lives of thousands every year, to those for whom carrying out simple acts of kindness are a daily occurrence”, said the charity’s chief executive, Ian Thomas.
“They share Age Cymru’s vision of an age friendly Wales in which older people have the same respect, rights, opportunities and access to services as other age groups. They could be someone’s neighbour; a postal worker; a member of staff at the corner shop or a charity volunteer at our local hospital.
“Whoever these people, organisations or businesses are if anyone out there knows someone who deserves an Age Cymru Award, please come forward and nominate them.”
Anyone can nominate an individual or organisation who they think deserves an award.
