Crickhowell Running Club hosted their first ever race in association with the Crickhowell Cancer Research Wales Committee on Sunday at Glanusk Estate.

The event was very well supported to raise much needed funds for the charity.

The children run a 2k whilst the battle of the 5k Santa Dash was won by Jon Like in 15.53.

Founder and Chair of the running club Julie Cashell says: “The day was all about the smiles.

‘‘Big smiles on the faces of the young and the adults alike. Working with the committee for a charity close to all our hearts has been a joy.

‘‘Everyone worked so hard. The fitting end to a wonderful morning was the rainbow over the finish for a club that was born a year ago during Covid Lockdown restrictions and now boasts nearly 100 members.

‘‘We are extremely grateful to Glanusk Estate for allowing us to use their grounds and to everyone involved in making such a wonderful event happen.’’
