The most decorated player in Rugby League history, Shaun Edwards OBE, will be on stage at The Blake Theatre, Monmouth tonight (Wednesday April 20).

Shaun Edwards is an icon of both codes. He is the most decorated player in Rugby League history with a phenomenal 37 winner’s medals, playing 36 times for Great Britain and appearing at 3 World Cups. He was voted Rugby League Man of Steel in 1990.

After retiring from playing he switched to Union coaching at Wasps as both Assistant and Head Coach winning 4 Premiership Titles, 2 Heineken Cups, a Challenge Cup and an Anglo Welsh Trophy.

In 2008 he joined Warren Gatland’s new look coaching team as defence coach and played an integral part in their success winning 4 6 Nation titles and 3 Grand Slams and was also defence coach for the British and Irish Lions on their tour of South Africa in 2009.

He is now the defence coach with an exciting French team ahead of their home World Cup and has just become the first coach to win Grand Slams with two different countries as France dominated the recent 6N Championships.

Shaun is a true legend of the game and is a character whose passion for the game is insatiable. It promises to be an evening to remember.
