RAGLAN'S unbeaten run in the Gwent Central Premier Division came to an end last week when the newcomers were caught napping by a clinical Pandy outfit.
Chris Lambert put Pandy 0-1 in front with a goal scored five minutes into the match, before Raglan equalised on the half hour mark with an opportunist goal by David Elias who pounced on a dropped ball the Pandy keeper had failed to clear from a long cross.
Pandy sunk ther teeth in during the second-half with strikes from Neil Gunter and Kirk Morgan to give them a 1-3 victory.
Man of the match for Pandy was Chris Lambert.
Man of the match for Raglan was Paul Rennie.
On Saturday Raglan bounced back with a vengeance as they stormed to a 1-5 victory over Gilwern.
Raglan's goals came from David Elias (2), Kris Jordan, Martyn Dembicki and Josh Butler.
Chris Perry scored Gilwern's consolation goal. Gilwern's Matthew Williams was sent off for two yellow cards.
Man of the match for Gilwern was Rhys Williams.
Man of the match for Raglan was Kris Jordan.
Also on the weekend, Pandy were left defeated after a visiting Llanarth side beat them 0-1 courtesy of a goal from man of the match Dan Wheeler.
Pandy's man of the match was Leyton Davies.
After losing their unbeaten record to Llanarth 2-3 in midweek, Usk Town suffered another mauling on Saturday as Pontypool Town took them apart to the tune of 5-2, after
Usk had taken an initial half-time lead.
Withing just 30 seconds of the ball being kicked, Ben Sherwood put Usk 0-1 up. The visitors had an excellent chance to double their lead five minutes later, but Ponty's keeper saved Usk's penalty attempt.
Less than five minutes later Ponty made it even stevens, before Jamie Swift put Usk Town back into the lead going into the interval.
Come the second half and Ponty turned up the heat and left Usk reeling after firing in four goals to nothing in way of reply.
Man of the match for Usk was Jamie Swift.
Llanfoist drew 2-2 with a visiting Crickhowell team. Kris Morgan and Ben Marshall did the honours for Llanfoist. Crick's goals came via Rob Young and Ben Clarke.
Man of the match for Llanfoist was goalkeeper Darren Rudd. Crickhowell's man of the match was Gavin Baynton. Crick also had Owain Jones sent off for two yellow cards.
Mardy were trumped 1-2 by Tranch on their own turf. Matthew Lynch scored the solitary Mardy goal and Neil Woodcock was man of the match.
Prescoed take top of Division Two following their 1-8 win on Saturday over Pontypool Town 'B'. Goals came thick and fast from Clinton Findlay (4), Chris Davies, Tom Canning, Adam Stansfield and man of the match Chris Parry.
Usk Town 'B' played two and won two last week. In midweek they took on newcomers Fairfield Utd 'B' and won 1-6 away.
Man of the match Matt Ford and David Glencross picked up a brace each, and Shaun Harding and Jack Parrish bagged one apiece.
On Saturday Blaenavon 'B' visited the 'Island' and floundered in the face of a 4-2 defeat.
David Glencross (2), Daniel Jones, and Shaun Taylor all put points on the board for Usk.
Matthew Cox and Richard Williams did the damage for Blaenavon.
14 goals were scored in the Pandy 'B' and Mardy 'B' derby, which saw Pandy power prevail 5-9.
Steven Jones got a brace, and Kyle Skinner and Tom Hughes added the rest for Mardy, aided and abetted by a Shane Rayburn own goal.
For the Pandy, hat-tricks by Gareth Staphnil and Rod Didcote, plus a brace by Shane Hughes and a solo effort by Ashley Powell gave them the win.
