RESIDENTS of Abergavenny’s Croesonen Gardens have been subjected to a number of stone throwing incidents during the past month.
They have had stones slung, possibly by a catapult, at their properties during both day and night.
Abergavenny Ward Manager, PC Adam Hollings told the Chronicle, “We are aware of the issue of stones being thrown near Croesonen Gardens in Abergavenny.
“We are conducting extensive house to house enquiries and we are mapping all houses in the area in an effort to locate the offender or offenders.
“We have also stepped up foot and vehicle patrols in the area, and are in the process of organising a drone flyover to monitor the area for this behaviour.
“Officers are also continually liaising with local communities to ensure the dangers around this type of behaviour is highlighted, including providing leaflet drops to the local area.
“We would like to reassure residents we do take reports of this nature very seriously and will take robust action against those committing these offences.
“We’d also like to reassure the local community that we believe this type of criminal damage is not specifically directed at any one individual.
“We do urge anyone who experiences this to report these incidents by calling 101 or 999 in an emergency. This allows us to ensure that officers are in the right place at the right time to tackle this issue.”
