GWENT Police’s get-tough policy on rowdy behaviour has extended from Abergavenny to a play park at Penperlleni.
A Dispersal Order was introduced at the location - and areas around it - to deal with anti-social behaviour.
A similar tactic was used in Abergavenny car parks last month to tackle the noisy, late-night antics of boy racers.
The 48-hour order, instigated at 3pm on Tuesday, applied directly to:
• Goytre/ Penperlleni public park and play area.
• School Lane.
• Newtown Road.
• Fairfield.
The order gives police and CSOs the powers to direct anyone to leave the specified area if they are believed to be involved in anti-social activity.
Those sent packing face arrest if they return to the area after being moved on.
Officers patrolled the identified troublespots regularly to enforce the Dispersal Order to prevent incidents of anti-social behaviour.
Inspector Lysha Thompson authorised the Dispersal Order under Section 35 of the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014.
Police advise anyone suspecting troublesome behaviour to report their concerns by ringing them on 101.
