Police caught a 31-year-old man who absconded from a prison near Usk, hundreds of miles away, it has emerged.

A police spokesperson, said, “Steven Rich, who absconded from Prescoed Prison in Usk on November 1, 2018 has been arrested on November 15, 2018, and is currently in police custody in Coventry.”

Gwent Police took ‘immediate action’ the individual had absconded.

The spokesperson, added, “Officers would like to take this opportunity to thank both the media and the public for their co-operation and assistance in locating individual.

“He has been charged and remanded with absconding from prison.”
