Torfaen County Borough Council has announced plans to install a new raised speed platform and Puffin Crossing on Middle Coedcae in Blaenavon to improve pedestrian safety and manage traffic speeds.

The proposed traffic calming measures will be located approximately 35 to 37 metres south-west of the road's junction with Coedcae Road. The scheme includes a bituminous macadam raised speed platform measuring four metres long, six metres wide, and 100 millimetres high, complete with 1.5-metre approach ramps, alongside a signal-controlled puffin crossing.

The local authority developed the proposal following consultations with Gwent’s police chief, exercising its powers under the Highways Act 1980 and the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
