Drivers in Clydach may face temporary travel disruption starting today (Wednesday) as Monmouthshire County Council implements a temporary road closure on Rhiwr Road.

The closure affects the stretch of Rhiwr Road between its junctions with Station Road and Mount Pleasant. The restriction is required to allow BT to safely carry out cabling and duct installation works in the area.

Contractors will operate daily between 9:30am and 3:30pm and while the temporary order permits a closure period of up to 18 months, it is anticipated that the work to wrap up quickly by Friday, August 21.

Find out about planning applications that affect you by visiting the Public Notice Portal.

Signed diversion routes are in place, routing traffic via the A465, A467, B4248 Blaenavon Road, and Waenllapria. Council representatives confirmed that reasonable access will be maintained for residents living along the affected section of the road throughout the maintenance period.
