THE Heads of the Valleys road is to be partially closed from 8pm on Wednesday, March 30 until 6am on Thursday, March 31 between the Saleyard Junction and Brynmawr.

Eastbound lanes ( from Brynmawr towards Abergavenny) will be closed with diversions will be signposted and the westbound lanes open as usual.

"A traffic switch is required along side the site of the old Drum and Monkey Public House, which will involve laying of new white lines, blacking out of some existing white lines, the moving of temporary traffic barrier from one side of the carriageway to the other and to create an additional mini roundabout; this work will be outside the normal working hours and through the night. We are working with the local Environmental Health Officers to agree the proposed operations," said a spokesman for Costain

Emergency vehicles will have access through the closure at all times and will be escorted through the work area.

The Glanbaiden roundabout will remain closed on the eastern and western segments with local traffic being diverted to the mini roundabout or the Hardwick roundabout.
