Over 1,000 people have now registered to use Monmouthshire Council’s new ‘Let’s Talk’ platform.

It’s a digital and accessible way for residents to share their views on the issues that impact them across the county and guide the decisions made on certain projects in their area.

Current consultations that are open for public input include ‘Let’s Talk Clydach Ironworks’, which is gathering ideas to improve the visitor experience and accessibility and ‘Let’s Talk Routes Around Usk School’ - asking for views on new active travel routes around Usk Primary School.

"Let's Talk Monmouthshire is an accessible way for residents to share their views, influence decisions and help shape the future of the county,” said Cllr Angela Sandles, Monmouthshire Council Cabinet Member for Equalities and Engagement.

“While it’s quick and easy to take part online, we know that not everyone is able, or prefers, to do it this way. So, if you pop into one of our Community Hubs and Libraries - in Abergavenny, Caldicot, Chepstow, Gilwern, Magor, Monmouth and Usk – you can find surveys, posters and information available too."

“It is fantastic that more than 1,000 people have already registered, but we want to hear from even more residents. Whether it is road safety, Clydach Ironworks, community priorities or local services, every response helps us understand what matters most."

Now, a new survey is being launched to gather local people’s views on the council itself. Launching on 14 September, the Let's Talk Resident Survey will ask residents about life in Monmouthshire, council services and their interactions with the council. The Wales-wide survey will help shape future policies, services and priorities.
