PUPILS at Llantilio Pertholey School sampled what life would be like over a hundred years ago as they held a special Victorian day. The day was arranged to coincide with the year six history curriculum module and according to Headmaster David Evans it was a great experience for the children. "The pupils dressed up in the costumes of the time and played a series of Victorian games." "The pupils were asked to bring a Victorian lunch and had to bring their lunch in brown paper, as they would in Victorian times." "The day was a great insight into the life of Victorian school pupils, all of the children enjoyed the experience." Mr Evans went on to say that although the pupils enjoyed the experience it's not something they would like to do all the time. "The children are all of the opinion that it is better to go to school today rather than in Victorian times." "It was a success, we have lots of different days and in the past have successfully had a Roman day and in the autumn we will be holding a science day."
