Two people have been taken to hospital following a stabbing incident in Blaenavon on New Year’s Eve.

The attack happened on Ivor Street in Blaenavon at about 11.10pm according to Gwent Police and left two people in a stable condition with non life-threatening injuries.

A man has been arrested and remains in police custody. An investigation is under way but police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.

Police have appealed for any witnesses to the attack to come forward and contact the Gwent force on its 101 non-emergency line.
