SOUTH Wales Fire and Rescue Service launched its brand new website this week during the first ever national Fire Safety Week for Wales.
Throughout Fire Safety Week, the three Fire and Rescue Services are uniting to promote the free home fire safety check service on offer. The new website offers a brand new online facility for requesting a home fire safety check by going to http://www.southwales-fire.gov.uk">www.southwales-fire.gov.uk as an alternative to calling 0800 169 1234.
The new website allows users to read about the work of the Fire and Rescue Service in any language, watch videos, link to interactive children's games relating to fire safety and listen to some of the raps produced by youngsters in the 'arson rap' project.
Chief Fire Officer Andy Marles said, "The new website is accessible to many more people than before with a number of viewing, listening and translation options to meet the needs of our diverse communities. The site also has some new features which make it more interactive and visual for members of the public. The online booking form for the free home fire safety check service has already been used and we hope it will become a popular feature."
South Wales Fire and Rescue Service would like members of the public to test out the new website and feedback would be very welcome.
The Welsh website can be accessed directly by logging onto the separate Welsh URL http://www.decymru-tan.gov.uk">www.decymru-tan.gov.uk.
