A VOLUNTEER group who aim to make Bailey Park the pride of Abergavenny have been using new equipment thanks to a grant from Keep Wales Tidy.

This was the first use of new litter picking equipment for the Friends of Bailey Park.

The £669 grant has enabled them to buy insurance and equipment such as litter pickers, bag hoops, gloves, and a sharps kit and to enable them to safely and effectively keep Bailey Park tidy. To let everyone know who they are their new 'stylish' hi vis vests are emblazoned with Friends of Bailey Park.

Future litter picks by the group are likely to take place on weekends when there is most need. The kit can be used by Friends members at the rugby club.
