THE Tabor Centre in Brynmawr has officially opened its doors to the public following a £1m project jointly funded with grants from the Welsh Government and the Big Lottery.
The Tabor building has been developed to become a multi-purpose facility with multiple rooms for hire, including a 150-seater main hall, a second hall, cafe, kitchen and breakout rooms.
It will also continue to be a place of worship with services on Sundays run by the Family Church.
Project co-ordinator, Stuart Wheatman said, “As well as being a facility for hire, we want the centre to bring an increasing sense of hope to our community.
“The centre will host amongst other things budgeting courses, a food bank, a job club, and a youth club.
“It will be a place where people can access learning opportunities, develop skills and will also be a community hub that promotes volunteering and engagement.”
