Wales, as we all know, is God’s own country. Our mountains, vales, rivers, forests, hills lakes and coastline possess a beauty as elusive as an Autumn mist and as mystical as moonlight playing on water.

Yet sometimes it’s nice to be reminded of just how lucky we are to live in Cymru.

In his new book ‘Wales in photographs’, lensman Mathew Browne has put together 126 breathtaking examples of why there really is no place like home.

From sublime landscapes to historical treasures, Browne has stalked the length and breadth of Wales with his trusty camera documenting on why a small corner of the British Isles has such enduring appeal.

Mathew Browne is an award winning photographer with an impressive portfolio. His love of travel and photography has taken him to over 50 countries. For this book Browne opted to concentrate his efforts on his native country and the results are captivating.

We’re all a little guilty of taking the beauty on our doorstep for granted. Just like a classic song can be given new life by a great singer it’s sometimes nice to see the familiar from a new angle courtesy of a talented photographer. And even a cursory glance through Mathew Brown’s book will assure you that he’s definitely that.
