ABERGAVENNY will be transformed in to the magical world of Narnia for this year's free ice fair.

The fair, half funded by Abergavenny Town Council, comes to town on December 13 and 14 at the town's Market Hall.

The fair promises to bring two days of festive fun for children and the whole family - with the ice rink making a popular come back.

The Mayor, councillor Douglas Edwards said, "Congratulations to Lisa Knight-Davies, Tom James of the One Stop Shop and councillor James George on their initiative to bring back the fair.

"I must also highlight the efforts organisers have made to raise the rest of the funding. This in itself has created a lot of entertainment for the young people in the preliminary round of the Xmas Factor and the finals at the Borough Theatre."

The grand opening begins at 10am on Sunday with a street procession staring from the Priory Centre, local groups and characters from Narnia will be taking part. The day continues with more activities and performances and finishes with a spectacular firework display at 7.30pm. For a full timetable of events visit the One Stop Shop or the Chronicle office for a leaflet.
