A coffee morning, hosted by Abergavenny Mayor, Councillor Sheila Woodhouse, raised £350 for the Nevill Hall Hospital Stroke Unit on Saturday February 1.

The Stoke Unit, which has been previously voted one of the best in the UK, was selected by the Mayor for the fundraiser, and she and her consort, Councillor Chris Woodhouse were thrilled at the amount of money raised.

On Saturday February 15, the Mayor will be hosting another coffee morning in her parlour, in aid of the Alzheimer's Society, and hopes that this event can be as much of a success as the event last week.

Also coming up is a Black and White Ball, which the Mayor is hosting at the Angel Hotel on March 29, also in aid of the Stroke Unit in Nevill Hall Hospital.

Tickets cost £35 and are limited to just 90 people.
