A man has been arrested following a road traffic collision near Blaenavon on Sunday. The 29-year-old was arrested on suspicion of causing injury by dangerous driving and has been released on police bail until January 15 2016.

he man was driving a Ford Ka, which was the only car involved in the incident. A 41-year-old woman passenger from the Abergavenny area was taken to Royal Gwent Hospital with arm and leg injuries.

The collision occurred on Sunday evening at Pwll-du at around 6pm and was attended by fire crews from Ebbw Vale, Abersychan and Blaenavon who worked to free one person who was trapped in the car.

A spokesman for the Welsh Ambulance Service said a rapid response vehicle and two ambulances were sent to the scene and a man and a woman were taken to the Royal Gwent and Nevill Hall Hospitals with what were believed to be non life-threatening injuries.
