CONSERVED buildings in the Abergavenny area, including the Grade I listed St Cadoc's Church at Llangattock Lingoed, will be open to the public on Saturday September 4 and September 25 as part of the European Heritage Open Doors scheme.

The Village Alive Trust local buildings preservation charity will open the Grade II* Great Trerhew Barn, Llanvetherine; Cwm Farm Cider House, Llangattock Lingoed; the Well House at New Inn Farm, Cross Ash and the recently completed pigscotts at Whitecastle Farm, Llantilio Crossenny between 2 and 5pm on both days.

The sites will be signposted off the B4521 Abergavenny to Skenfrith road. Teas will be available at some venues and stout footwear is suggested.

The farm buildings are all listed and tell a story of farming in previous generations. They have been saved from dereliction with the help of grants and community support.
