Celebrating over decade of promoting fab music in the heart of Monmouthshire the Raglan Festival will take place, as always, throughout the second weekend in June.

The boutique family music festival takes place across the whole village and will host many varied and exciting gigs, open mics and activities for all ages throughout the weekend; many of which are free, so save the date in your diary and go along and enjoy!

This year Raglan Festival hosts their ever-popular kids’ music workshops on Saturday as well as hosting the finals of ‘Raglan’s Got Talent’ children’s competition!

Highlights include music performances by Raglan VC Primary School, Monmouth Comprehensive School, Taiko Mynydd Du, Samba Viva and several groups of pupils with Gwent Music.

Also, during the weekend they’ll be supporting up and coming talent, Ted Jevans, Lucy Merrett, Ellen May and Katie Dykes as well as hosting a whole host of local acts, Wylde Bird Seed, Turner Street Crash, Catch 22, Taffy Was a Thief, The Rob Conley band, Shimai, Matahari jazz and Pennie Ray and Jonny Quick.

Monmouth Male Voice Choir and Gwent Music Senior choir will perform this year too and promise to raise the roof at St Cadoc’s church.

Friday night’s highlight will be “Just Like That” Tommy Cooper tribute while the Sunday night finale 70s School Disco will feature the excellent Abba Bjorn Rocks tribute band co-hosted by Raglan School PTA.

As ever 2017 will see two fantastic festivals taking place in Raglan village.

As well as the Music Festival, Raglan Day will also take place on Bank Holiday Monday, August 28. If you’d like to take part in the carnival parade or operate a stall at this event then please get in touch with the Festival organisers.

Celebrating local musical talent, supporting up-and coming Welsh acts whilst fostering a welcoming village community and family ethos, both Raglan Festival 2017 and Raglan Day promise to be two great events!
