A ‘juvenile’ driver has been arrested after being found hiding in a garden in Brynmawr by a police dog.

Roads policing officers on a routine patrol in the area spotted a car which checks proved was stolen over the weekend, but they were in for a surprise when they saw the age of the driver.

After fleeing the scene, a police dog was sent out to search the area and found a discarded mobile phone and bag, only to later discover the suspect hiding in a nearby garden.

The juvenile was subsequently arrested on suspicion of the theft of a motor vehicle, driving otherwise in accordance with a license, driving without insurance, and possession of a Class B drug - cannabis.

They have been released pending further investigation.
