A man from Brynmawr is back behind bars after being arrested for breaching the conditions of his release from prison.

Last week, police launched an appeal to help locate 31-year-old Stephen Howells, having been released after serving time for the aggravated taking of a motor vehicle without consent, dangerous driving and causing injury or damage.

At the time of those offences, Howells was also serving a suspended sentence for the burglary of a petrol station in Crickhowell. However, earlier this morning, officers confirmed he was back in police custody.

“We recently appealed for information to help us find Stephen Howells, from Brynmawr, who'd been recalled to prison,” a police spokesperson said.

“Officers have now arrested the 31-year-old. Thank you for sharing our appeal.”
