AN APPEAL by a Women’s Aid charity for people to donate their first plastic tenner saw fifty pounds raised on day one.

Debra Reeves who works for Cyfannol Women’s Aid on Monk Street in Abergavenny stated, ‘This is fantastic for us as we are all struggling to keep our services going and fund raising is very hard work, so any opportunity like this is brilliant.

The centre offers refuge and counselling services for victims of domestic abuse, a sanctuary in crisis and a child mentoring programme.
