AN inquest into the death of a 78-year-old Abergavenny woman has been adjourned for three months while further investigations take place.
Pamela Butler was found dead at her Park Close home in February after police officers were called by concerned neighbours.
The inquest heard that a post mortem examination carried out at the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, failed to find the cause of death and further investigations are being carried out.
An 83-year-old man was taken to hospital from the address at Park Close and was subsequently arrested in connection with Mrs Butler’s death.
Gwent Police have confirmed that he has since been released, pending further inquiries.
Gwent coroner David Bowen adjourned the inquest for three months while investigations are completed but released Mrs Butler’s body for funeral purposes.
