A COMMUNITY group campaigning to keep former college The Hill in the community says talks with Dr Olinga Ta'eed "went well."

They met to discuss plans and projects for The Hill. In a very positive meeting Dr Ta'eed acknowledged the valuable role played by CASH in saving The Hill and emphasised his desire to work in partnership with the community.

He welcomed the 'Roots and Shoots' proposal and the Woodland Management Group's wish to care for the wooded areas and possibly provide a woodland trail. In a significant development he agreed to the idea of a Community Office at the Hill. This will provide a hub for a variety of community groups.

Plans for the residential ballet school are well advanced and the first students will start in September. Prior to that, The Hill will be completely refurbished.

During May, Greenfingers will be given access to start some general care and maintenance work in the walled garden and the grounds. Preparation for the return of the traditional wide range of residential and non-residential courses is well under way.

A public meeting arranged by CASH and Bryn y Cwm Forum will be held at The Hill in July when Dr. Ta'eed will discuss his plans and CASH will present its programme of possible courses and activities.

Further details will be made available nearer the confirmed date.

CASH's successful role as a campaigning group is approaching its end.
