MARDY took a massive step towards survival on Saturday afternoon with an impressive 6-3 win against bottom of the table RTB Ebbw Vale.

Four Minutes later a quick-witted Wham headed the ball in from four yards out and bagged his second.
Mardy stayed focused and reaped the reward when Aaron Davies scored from a Gareth Williams cross.

A great day for the Mardy was topped off with sub Lewis Edwards bursting up the wing and cutting in well to find himself with just he RTB keeper to beat - which he did comfortably to make it 6-3 to the Mardy at the end of play.
This was not the best football Mardy have played all season, but the result does mean that with six games to play, Mardy's fight for survival in Gwent County Division One is well and truly on.

Blaenavon Blues -2
Coed Eva Athletic - 2
BLAENAVON Blues picked up a well-earned point after drawing against high flying Coed Eva Athletic on Saturday in the Torfaen derby.
But after taking a look at other results the Blues will be kicking themselves that they didn't take all three points.
With both Mardy and Pentwynmawr winning the Blues are now only three points outside the relegation zone.
The Blues went into a first half lead with some superb build up playing involving Josef Ward, Captain Steve White and Darren Harris who fired home from twenty yards for a well deserved lead.
The Blues dominated the opening 30 minutes but took their foot off the gas and allowed Coed back into the game with poor defending that saw the visitors get the equaliser from a ball that should have been cleared on several occasions.
The Cwmbran club soon found themselves two one up, when again poor defending from the Blues allowed Coed Eva in for a 2-1 interval against the run of play.
The Blues came out for the second half like they did the first half and were back level within two minutes of the restart.
Again some superb build up play by the Blues attacking players created the space for James Parfitt who had the easiest of finishes with a simple tap in from Harris's cross.
The Blues completely dominated second half possession and territory, but were unable to find the third goal that would have finished Coed off.
Blaenavon were by far the better side, but will be left disappointed not to have taken all three points and will now need to take something from next weeks game away to Abertillery Excelsior's. kick off 3pm.
