Over 60 Abergavenny people packed into the Priory Centre recently to tell S4C chiefs what they thought of the channel.

Both S4C Authority Chair Huw Jones and the new Chief Executive Owen Evans were available to answer questions and respond to comments. Additionally some of the channel commissioners were also there to hear local views.

There was a great deal of appreciation for the channel’s drama output, especially BANG – the dark murder mystery based in Port Talbot, and Un Bore Mercher, the west Wales based Eve Myles drama about a husband that goes missing.

Many Welsh language learners in the audience were keen to point out the importance of subtitles – in English as they start to learn and then in Welsh as they gained proficiency.

At the end of the evening Huw Jones thanked those that had made the effort to attend and underlined the importance of viewer’s comments and suggestions to the way the channel develops. He asked people to email him on [email protected]u if they had any further ideas or observations.
