Govilon - 9
Abercarn United - 4
GOVILON came straight out of the blocks and took no prisoners during Saturday's demolition job on Abercarn United
They say football is all about the preparation and if so Govilon's must be spot on because straight from the kick-off they scored when Rhys Whiteman put Govilon in the lead.
This was followed straight after by a Robbie Frost free kick, who after recently returning to the club wasted no time in burying the ball in the top corner of the net from 20 yards out.
Dean Morgan made it three, before Abercarn settled themselves and scored after the Govilon keeper palmed a long range shot and the Abercarn sticker tapped home the rebound.
With the wind in their sails, Abercarn scored another to make it 3-2.
Govilon bounced back and Danny Marfell scored Govilon's fourth goal but again Abercarn came back and made it 4-3 going into the interval.
Into the second half and Govilon made their intent clear when they opened proceedings with a second goal from Danny Marfell.
Abercarn didn't seem phased and came straight back at Govilon after a defensive mix up allowed them to score.
Enough was enough and from this point in Govilon took the bull by the horns and started to dominate with a passing game that allowed young wingers Mathew Heritage and Jake Heckles to terrorise the Abercarn defence and create chance after chance.
Abercarn couldn't handle the fitness of Rhys Whiteman and Craig Norman who were continually making bursting runs through the middle, and their weakness was exploited when Rhys Whiteman scored after good work by Mathew Heritage.
Dean Morgan made it seven from another good move and Craig Norman made it eight before Dean Morgan scored his second hat trick in a week to round off another good day in the office and push Govilon up to third place in the league.
