AC Pontymister - 3
Govilon - 2
GOVILON have never won at Pontymister in league or cup and although they were hoping to smash that unenviable record on Saturday they suffered yet another defeat.
It was a scrappy start with both sides finding it hard to play football in the wet conditions until Craig Norman unleashed a blistering shot from 25 yards straight into the top corner on the turn and brought this game to life.
Govilon started attack after attack but could not find the net in the slippery conditions.
In the second half Pontymister came out of the blocks and looked dangerous on the attack but Govilon's defence of L. Gilchrist , A. Davies , R. frost and G. Roberts held firm until Leon Gilchrist was sent off for a rash tackle and the resulting provocation.
Soon after Pontymister equalised through a penalty after Aaron Davies brought down there striker inside the box.
Down to 10 men Govilon refused to surrender and got straight back into Ponty's face with a grubber shot from 20 yards out by Gareth Roberts to put Govilon back in the lead.
Govilon worked hard to contain Ponty but a lack of concentration in the last ten minutes allowed the home side back into the game and they equalised with a well struck shot into the top corner.
With less than five minutes remaining Ponty scored the winner after a tired Govilon side failed to clear their lines.
