Govilon - 3
Rogerstone - 0
DEAN Morgan and Richard McCarthy warmed up for their international call-up by bagging all the goals against Rogerstone.
McCarthy struck first after 10 minutes when despite being tackled in the box by Davies in the Rogerstone goal he managed to squeeze the ball home.
Davies was lucky not to concede another when he failed to hold a cross by Matthew Ham and saw Matthew Stephens' header rebound off the crossbar.
Jamie Laurent, also joining Morgan and McCarthy on the trip to Israel produced a wonderful weaving run through the Rogerstone defence and saw his shot well saved by Davies. Rogerstone sparked into life as the half hour approached, with efforts from Evans who hit a fierce shot wide of target and then Mark McKee fired over.
Govilon's defender Craig Salmons almost found himself on the score-sheet, connecting with Laurent's pinpoint corner only to see his effort saved by Davies.
McCarthy tested Davies with a 30 yard blockbuster shot, which he failed to hold and was fortunate not to concede as the ball was cleared after a goalmouth scramble to leave it 1-0 at half-time.
Rhys Whiteman thought he had scored shortly after the re-start but referee Norman disallowed his effort.
Rogerstone's Evans was the liveliest of their players, but again fired wide before Laurent's free kick curled just wide of the post.
When McCarthy won the ball in midfield, he sent the free running Morgan on his way to notch his first and Govilon's second.
Govilon made the game safe with ten minutes remaining, when Morgan scored the goal of the game tiptoeing through a packed Rogerstone box to fire low to Davies' right.
