Llantilio Pertholey WI started 2016 with their monthly evening meeting at the local community hall.

President Jane White welcomed old and new members and a short business meeting highlighted some forthcoming dates and events.

Each year the branch holds a Founders Lunch, which this year will be on March, 11 at the Monmouthshire Golf Club.

Members were invited to purchase tickets for the Gwent Federation’s Anniversary service to be held on Saturday, February 20 at St Mary’s Priory Church, Abergavenny followed by tea and Welsh cakes in the Priory Centre.

During the meeting, several photograph albums of WI activities from the past were on display for members to browse through.

This was followed by a social gathering involving copious cups of tea, during which the annual subscriptions were paid!

Each member then had an opportunity to discuss the members’ resolutions put forward by the Federation and to vote for the most important one to take forward.

The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, February 4 at 7.15 pm when Bakerstone Bakery will be demonstrating gluten and lactose-free baking.

New members are always welcome.
