THE 24 year old Llangynidr woman missing from her home since February 6 suffers from an eating disorder, said her brother.

Alice Vulliamy has not been seen since that date when her locked car was found near Christ College in Brecon. Her brother Andrew said she had been under pressure to increase her food intake. "I am pleading for people who may have seen Alice to call police urgently. Secondly, I have a message for Alice herself. We'd like her to let us know she is safe and for her to know that no-one is angry or upset with her.

"Even though she is 24 she could be mistaken for a teenager. The motivation for her disappearance might be to avoid the treatment she was receiving for an eating disorder."

He said although she is normally very confident and talkative she was probably anxious and frightened. He said Dyfed Powys Police who are co-ordinating the search for her, remain positive and are investigating the possibility that she had sought refuge with a friend or someone she knows.

The search has centred on Brecon and Llangynidr but Brecon Mountain Rescue team, assisted by members from th Longtown, Western Beacons and Central Beacons rescue teams have helped. Mark Jones of Brecon Mountain Rescue said they used kayaks last week to search the River Usk between Brecon and Llangynidr. Fishermen and riparian owners further down river have also been asked to check the river banks.

She is described as slim, white, 5'3" tall with mousey brown, shoulder length hair.
