Wild Wednesday returns by popular demand for May half-term but this time with a change of location and the opportunity to explore the Skirrid.
As last year, the ranger-led event is part of the National Trust’s ’50 things to do before you’re 11¾’ campaign, where kids have the chance to discover new adventures and get closer to nature in this picturesque corner of the countryside.
Featuring regular favourites including building a den and creating some wild art, children taking part will be given their own 50 things booklet, along with stickers for each activity they complete so they can tick them off the list.
The Skirrid provides a different experience from the Sugar Loaf where these events have previously taken place.
Rich in myths and legends with spectacular views from the summit, Pant Skirrid Wood offers a contrasting environment that’s filled with the captivating sounds of surrounding birds.
Wild Wednesday on the Skirrid is taking place on Wednesday May 31 from 10am to 3pm and booking is essential.
There is a charge of £3 per child (adults free) and participants will need to take a picnic. Please visit nationaltrust.org.uk/sugarloaf-and-usk-valley or call 0344 249 1895 to book.
