A group of Monmouthshire women have organised an event around Women’s Rights in post Brexit Wales to explore how leaving the EU will affect women.

The event, which will be held at Bridges Community Centre, Monmouth on Wednesday March 8 (7pm - 9pm) will be Chaired by local campaigners Su McConnel and Catherine Fookes.

Guest speakers will be Frances Beecher, CEO of Llamau Cymru, Julie Morgan, Assembly Member for Cardiff North, Katie Palmer, Sustainable Food Cities Coordinator, Public Health Wales and Dr Sarah Lloyd Jones, Director People and Work Unit, Cardiff.

Frances Beecher said, “With the future looking uncertain I welcome this chance to discuss women’s rights, particularly focusing on those women who already face uncertainty and have significant obstacles to overcome.”

Katie Palmer will share the results and impact of a ground-breaking project in Cardiff that has helped tackle holiday hunger and health inequalities for children by providing holiday clubs, lunch and sporting activities for children in the school holidays.

The panel will also discuss the potential impact of Brexit on our lives and how we need to prepare ourselves for the future as well as take questions from the floor.

Proceeds from the meeting will be donated to Llamau.
